Love, Like, and Dislike. How do you find happiness in an unpleasant task?

Have you ever loved doing something so much, you gave up food and sleep for it? Not, that you should give up your health princples, mind you, just you had to force yourself away from the task you love so much.

Sometimes we compare things too much. For example, I love photography. I can take pictures, look at pictures, do photo albums, edit pictures all day. It's not good for me and I do have other priorities, but just the same it is something I enjoy VERY much. On the other hand I like cooking. I enjoy making bread, pies, cookies, and new recipes. And I don't mind doing house work. Each has their own preference and order of how much they like something.

Do you prioritized basied on how much you like to do something? Of course NOT! Or at least you shouldn't, but I bet sometimes you do. We need to prioritize basied on principle and what God leads us to do that day.

What about those things you dislike? How do you learn to like them? Well first of all, determine if you really dislike it or not. My son has been telling people (I found myself saying it too), that he doesn't like school or piano. And as I struggled with trying to figure out how to 'make him like it', I realized he enjoys lots of things about school and piano. So I shared with him, that just because he likes lego more than school, doesn't mean he doesn't like school. It is not all or nothing.

So, what if you find you don't like a task you need to do? Well look for the things about the task you do like. For instance, my son doesn't like writing. But he loves getting letters in the mail. So we focus on the joy he will have when he gets mail as he pratices writing a letter.

Then it comes down to surrender. There are unpleasant tasks in life that we simply have to surrender to. At this point put a song in your heart or even sing out loud. We have found many a chore to be a delight with music.

May God Bless your walk with Him,

AP

Designing a Logo

Your logo should be simple, unique, and easy to read at first sight.  It should be designed with your business culture in mind.  For example, You wouldn’t use a fancy script on a towing company’s logo.  The logo should be designed around the central theme of your business; a book for publishing, a tractor for farming, etc....

...Design the logo to be adaptable for large and small applications.  Make sure it looks good in black and white or in color.  Does it look good monochrome (different shades of one color)? Can it be used on letter head well?  Do you need a small mini one for book spines or other products?  Can it be adapted for signs or banners? ...

Dealing with Stress

Stress is a fact of everyday life. We simply can't get away from it, nor it is all that bad. But even in my own life I've noticed it creeping in more and more as my life gets busier. And as I pondered why things are getting to me so much lately I realized I hadn't been giving all to Jesus.

It has been suggested we spend a thoughful hour each day studying the life of Christ. What a joy to behold our maker on the cross dying that we may live. What sorrow and pain He went through for us. It sure puts our stress into perspective. Here are a few tips to help reduce stress in your life...

Recipes

Carob Ice Cream

One of my personal favourites.

• 1 cup raw cashews, rinsed
• 1 1/2 cups vanilla soy milk (Vita Soy or So Good, is the best)
• 1 1/2 cups Silk Soy Creamer (see Tips pg. 51, Vol. 2)
• 2 cups cooked millet (or vanilla soy milk)
• 1/2 cup raw sugar (or 1/3 cup honey)
• 1 Tbsp vanilla extract, adjust as needed
• 1/2 tsp almond flavor
• 3/4 cup carob powder

Blend cashews and enough soy milk to cover until VERY smooth. Add remaining ingredients and process on high. Freeze 2 hours. Process on high in food processor. Repeat as necessary until smooth and firm. See Tips on pg. 47, Vol. 2.
Serves 12
Ready in: 4 to 6 hours
